My lesson in wood carving this week inspired me to attempt a multi-image composition on a single piece of cedar rail.  The piece was cut from a wider piece, but I thought the knot holes in this section would provide some interesting opportunities to carve more sprites.  I ended up working two smaller faces to the left and right of the top hole, and used the central hole at the bottom as an implied mouth for a larger figure. Roughly worked cutting, and  finished as a darker wood with a Min-Wax Red Mahogany stain, approximately 45 cm x 10cm x 5cm.
